Lead Veterinary Surgeon, Portmarnock Brand new Clinic

Dublin, Ireland Full Time
Compensation: €65,000 to €75,000 Annually

Location: Village Vets Portmarnock

Reports to: Regional Director

Salary: €65,000 - €75,000 + to 20% Performance Related bonus + Lead Vet bonus + Greenfield bonus + Sign on Bonus

Schedule: 5 day week, 1:4 Saturdays, 1:12 Sundays

Join our Head Nurse Donna, our Vet Emily and our Animal Care Assistant Sydney in our brand new clinic centrally located in Saint Marnocks Bay with free parking and easy access to DART.

    It's a role with genuine scope to make your mark - supporting your colleagues, developing clinical standards, driving preventative healthcare and helping the practice achieve its ambitions. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic vet who enjoys combining excellent clinical care with people leadership and wants to play a key role in shaping the future of a busy, successful practice.

    You'll have the autonomy to lead and develop the clinical team, champion high standards of patient care and work closely with the Head Nurse and wider Village Vets team to deliver an exceptional experience for both clients and their pets.

    About the Role

    • Lead, motivate, and develop the clinical team, promoting a positive and inclusive culture
    • Deliver high standards of clinical care and lead on clinical best practice
    • Oversee compliance with VCI regulations and accreditation standards
    • Mentor and support the veterinary team in clinical development and career progression
    • Work closely with the Head Nurse to ensure excellent patient care across the clinic
    • Drive preventative healthcare and client education
    • Lead the delivery of the clinic’s business plan and performance targets
    • Monitor financial performance, KPIs, and clinic profitability
    • Ensure effective communication across the team and with wider business functions
    • Support operational efficiency and implementation of new initiatives

    About You

    • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (MVB or equivalent)
    • Minimum 3 years’ experience in practice
    • Previous leadership or senior vet experience preferred
    • Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills
    • Excellent communication and organisational skills
    • Passionate about team development, patient care, and client service
    • Commercially aware with an interest in clinic performance
